Practice & Education - Introduction 25 December 2017

We have an excellent relationship with the Trust's Faculty of Education, in relation to internal courses, preceptorship, and all aspects of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and more recently with the prospect of running a Red Dot Study Day that will be advertised nationally in the very near future.

We have recently developed training and development plans for all Radiography staff Bands 2 7, and we are now looking at developing training and development plans for the Radiology nursing staff and the clerical & admin team. They are as follows: Band 2, Band 3, Band 4, Band 5, Band 6, and Band 7

Birmingham City University

The Radiology Directorate has a strong collaborative working relationship with the local University, Birmingham City University (BCU) with regards to Undergraduate, Postgraduate training including Post Graduate advanced practice in Appendicular / Axial Plain Film Reporting, CT Head Reporting & Barium Enema Reporting. The Training and Development Lead for Radiology regularly attends meetings with the University, they are the Clinical Placement Liaison group and the profession specific group which all help with the Undergraduate students. A clinical tutor comes out to visit the students on a weekly basis and at the same time the clinical tutor meets with the Site Leads and Training and Development Lead to discuss the students and have a general update which helps to support and strengthen the good working relationship that we have with the University.
