Patient Information - Parking Fees 25 December 2017

Car parking is available for patients and visitors to Birmingham Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals; however, at peak times our car parks can become congested and spaces are limited.

Standard Parking Charges for all hospital sites:

  • 30 mins - Free*
  • 1 hour - £2.75
  • 2 hours - £3.75
  • 4 hours - £4.75
  • 24 hours - £5.75

Please DO NOT pay for your parking until you are ready to leave the car park, as any underpaid tickets will be rejected by the exit machines.

*Drop off or pick up only – entrance tickets allow free exit for up to 30 minutes. There is no need to use the pay on foot machine, simply insert your ticket in the exit barrier.

Discounted multiple tickets

A range of discounted tickets for multiple visits are available from the hospital parking office. These include:

  • 3 day ticket – £10.00
  • 7 day ticket – £17.00
  • 14 day ticket – £23.00
  • 28 day ticket – £35.00
  • 20 exit carnet – £10.00 (please note this a new approach at our hospitals for all patients whose illness means that they have to attend hospital regularly. This 20 visit card can be purchased on the signature of the ward. This means users pay just 50 pence per visit, however long they park for. This applies to all wards and all hospitals.)

State benefits claimants

None of our hospitals charge parking fees to those who cannot afford to pay. People receiving certain income-related benefits can park free of charge so long as they bring proof with them and present it at the parking office.

Individuals in receipt of income-related state benefits may qualify for FREE parking. Qualifying benefits must be those where an assessment of income has been made.

These types of benefits include:

  • Income support
  • Pension Credit
  • Job seeker’s Allowance
  • ESA – Employment and Support Allowance
Please show documentary evidence and some form of identification at the main reception or parking office.
